Landing on an up-slope isn't as bad when the wings are out and slowing you down. Not only can they help with a slightly fudged jump, they also slow you down so the impacts don't bottom you out. There's definite potential for them helping out in breaking some records. Usually a flip is accidental or if intentional it slows you down moreso than anything, so getting boost from this is unreliable at best, harmful at worst. Only useless one of those is the flip boost. Fumes booster (when low on gas->boost) Helps in those critical last meters in Adventures. Wheelie booster and the turbo booster (gives out bursts of boost when you keep the turbo meter full) especially comes in handy in racing. There's definite value for different types of boosters. The tasks, "once every 7 hours" and "win 10" chests seem similar in value, basically bronze chests with the occasional gem(s) inside. That might be by design, or perhaps I'm just unlucky. So far from dailies and task chests I haven't seen anything over Rare. The grind is daunting and the RNG is annoying. Wheelie and turbo boosters for the Sports Car put me back to lead on a few occasions. The boosts when doing X are useful, those helped me on a few races. Probably when you get them on a higher level they will become a factor. In races the effects were miniscule with the parts I had on, they didn't really help me that much. I was too tired when I drove on autopilot to spend all my gems on chests. If the parts would've been universal, so you could use them on the car you wish, it would've made some sense.Īre they useful? Hard to tell yet. That's a huge amount, considering you generally get parts in the single digits (save for the common parts).

If this rate keeps up, the last upgrade will cost you around 300 parts. Which isn't quite as bad as my initial reaction, but it's still pretty damn bad: There's achievements to upgrading a part up to lvl 20, so I'm guessing it's capped there. So you need RNG to get the chest, then more RNG to get the parts for the vehicle you wanted. You'll need those 24 hour chests to get the more rare upgrades. The "standard" 8 hour chests only have parts up to Epic. What is though, are the higher level parts. That take like 50ish gems to open if you have one. Those chests in the sneak peak video, that the guy was buying at two thousand gems a pop? Those are just the biggest chests you could get. My initial rant of rage was unnecessary to some extent. There are also a ton of customizable items for the drivers so that they always look different from everyone else. The players will have to deal with multiple environments, and they will have to invest money into their cars to even consider attacking the leader boards. The biggest difference is that you’re not just fighting for the best time, you’re actually in a race with other drivers, either in single player or multiplayer. The concept of 2D racing is not something new and, in fact, it’s been around for many years. Hill Climb Racing 2 is not a game for the faint of hearing because it requires players to take an enormous risk, and if you crash during a race, you’re going to have to start over.
